This practice provides all usual general medical services. These include:
Some of the doctors carry out various minor surgical procedures, for example removal of cysts and lumps and freezing with liquid nitrogen. Please enquire at the reception desk as to which doctor can help you.
This is held by a doctor, a health visitor and a practice nurse at the Stapleford surgery on Wednesday mornings . The aim is to provide routine health development and advice for children under the age of 5 years. Immunisation of children is carried out during these clinics. It is not a surgery – unwell children should be seen during ordinary surgery times to minimise the spread of infections.
Routine ante-natal care is undertaken by a doctor in conjunction with the community midwife.
Our practice nurses carry out a variety of specialist services and share with doctors the care and monitoring of those with certain chronic diseases according to established clinical protocols. The chronic diseases include:
The practice nurses also will be able to help you with:
These are carried out by a trained phlebotomist in the practice and appointments for routine blood tests should be arranged through reception.
Please call between 11am and 3.30pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
Please contact the surgery to book an appointment for your flu vaccine. Alternately you can attend one of our Drop-in Flu Clinics (appointments not required).
For Patients aged 65 and over Only
For All eligible patients
During the month of November 2019 we will be changing to a new computer system. Unfortunately this may result in some disruption but we are aiming to keep this to a minimum.
For the period 12 November 2019 to 19 November 2019 inclusive we will be unable to offer routine appointments. We will run an emergency surgery for urgent medical problems.
To cause as little disruption to our repeat prescription service We are asking patients who are on repeat prescriptions to order early if they are likely to need a prescription during the period 12 November 2019 to 19 November 2019 .
Everyone in the practice requires training in order to use our new system. We commence Training on Monday 11 November 2019 and this will continue through and after the Go Live Day, 20 November 2019. Please be aware that members of staff and doctors may not be available at all times to enable them to have protected time for training.
GO LIVE DAY!
We go live with our new computer system on Tuesday 19 November 2019. We will still only be able to offer an emergency service for this day while we prepare everything ready for Wednesday 20 November 2019.
Please understand that once we are working live with the new system, after the 19 November 2019, surgeries and clinics may run behind as doctors and nurses may take a bit longer during their consultations while they get used to working with our new computer system.
Also Reception staff may take a moment longer than usual to deal with the public while they get familiar with our new computer system. As a result of this you may find that there is a need to queue but staff will get to you as quickly as they can.
