The next Linden Patient Participation Group meeting will be held on Tuesday 4th February at The Linden Medical Group, Stapleford Care Centre at 7pm.

All Linden patients are very welcome to attend - please come along to find out more about the group.

What are the changes?

All routine appointments are now available to book in advance. This will mean that all the morning appointments that used to be available only to book that same morning (at 8am) are now available to book  in advance. We hope this will allow all patients who need to see a GP that day for urgent appointments, or to request home visits, will be able to get through on the phones more quickly. This change will also allow patients more availability and choice as to when they see a GP and also more chance of them being able to see their preferred GP.

All routine appointments are available to book online. We hope this will help with the volume of calls that the surgery receives.

We have also introduced extended hours 'early bird' doctor and nurse appointments between 7 and 8 am on Mondays.

If you would like to register for the online booking please ask at Reception to sign up for it. We do require photo ID when registering.

 What hasn’t changed?

Afternoon appointments are all available to book in advance (1 week, 2 weeks and 4 weeks). These appointments are available to book at 10am daily and are also available to book online.

Urgent appointments

If you are unwell and require an urgent appointment (something that can’t wait until the next routine appointment) please contact the surgery from 8am for an appointment to be seen that morning. Urgent problems arising after 11am will be dealt with by the on-call Doctor. These appointments are NOT available online so you will need to call the surgery.

We hope that these changes will make it easier for patients to see a GP. If you require any further information regarding the new system please ask at Reception.

Access to a GP over the Christmas and New Year Holidays

From 22 December until 8 January you can access a GP service on the bank holidays as well as weekends and evenings (6:30pm until 8:00pm) by phoning 111.

This service is available when your GP practice is closed.

Staff roles

Receptionists, clerical officers, data input and audit clerks can answer most of your queries. More complex administrative matters can be handed over to one of the practice supervisors.
